The NKU Center for Information Security (CIS) is a multidisciplinary center for information security research and education.

NKU has been designated as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency and U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Four Missions

  1. Support NKU’s academic departments in the development of high quality educational programs in cybersecurity.
  2. Offer high value events and symposia to both educators and professionals.
  3. Facilitate research that contributes to the theory and practice of information security.
  4. Perform cybersecurity outreach to both educational and professional organizations.
